Bergen, where my life is happening

A short summary of life in Bergen...

Festpavilliongen in the center of Bergen, always decorated with wonderful flowers. My bus departs from right beside here every morning.

Back in regular sushi land, here with Aina, who I usually eat  sushi with.

Take away <3 coffee

Cobble stones, everywhere.

Slow breakfast at one of my favorite coffee shops, here with a cortado, scones and forest berries.

Sadness, my grandma passed away.

Lots of happiness as Ragnhild and Dag married!

It has been raining so freaking much. Only sunny day was Ragnhild and Dags wedding day.

When at home, visit my other grandma...and eat.

Tante Bruun, amazingly nice cafe in Ålesund

It's been cold. New snow in the mountains.

Love seeing that the sun exists. Here sunrise on my way from Hareid to Bergen.

Friends leaving Bergen, so we need to gather up for a real farewell.

Weekend trip to Frode and Sofies cabin, with outdoor hot tub, amazing food, and lovely company.

Early morning on my way to work, looking at the lovely moon.

And then, after so much rain we couldn't grasp it, sunshine! Here my colleague Janne.

Amazing.

Dry streets, for the first time in forever.

Our neighbors.

The Dominican god of the sun, in a Norway/ DR mix.

London, baby!

Girls trip to London is ok. I don't mind. It was even still summery over there. Only 1,5 - 2 hours flight from Bergen, and pretty cheap, this was a perfect destination for a weekend. I took Monday off from work, and had three whole days to enjoy and relax.

We stayed at the Prince William Hotel. Not fancy, with a crappy breakfast, but it was clean and not that bad. I shared a room with Oddrun, and we got a room on the 5th floor. The elevator was out of order, of course.

The morning view from our room. Even blue sky, something that is not too common in Bergen.

Åsrun and Oddrun, ready for shopping the first day!

We met up with Peter, a wonderful Maltese friend of mine, and had lunch at Covent Garden. From the left is Rannveig, Åsrun, Oddrun, I, Peter and Linn. I know most of them from my study days in Trondheim. Oddrun is a childhood friend, and Rannveig is also from back home.

Peter and Åsrun at the marked at Covent Garden.

Peter and I found some delicious chocolate, and then some macaroons.

Shopping is good, but chocolate and coffee is even better. We simply sat down in the middle of a tiny round about, enjoyed our snack, and people watched.

Dinner time and we ended up with some moroccan food. It was so delicious! We even got a show from a belly dancer! She was in contrast to all the ladies covered in shawls. They all seemed to enjoy the show, though.

Next morning, bright sunshine! We stayed just by Kensington Gardens, and Oddrun and I walked down there when we finally got up Saturday morning. The others caught up after a while, and we relaxed a little bit before searching for breakfast. I have to mention that London was full of Norwegians this weekend, we heard them just about everywhere!

Breakfast as it should be served! Even the toast was good...

Late for the show, in a real English taxi!

One of the sights we saw....sightseeing was not on the menu this weekend.

Lion King, on the other hand, was on the menu!

Taking pictures is not allowed...but I got to keep it.

Peter and I outside the theater.

Then off to eat lunch. We ended up in a french restaurant close to Covent Garden.

Burned chicken with awesome vegetables. I complained and got a discount.

Walking towards the Thames, being watched by a giant fox.

We ended up in a british pub, with swedish speaking bartenders. They were super nice, and gave us a lot of tastings.

With the Thames in the back ground, and Sylvia and Oddrun in the front. Sylvia is a friend from my time in the DR, and she met up with us on Sunday.

Rannveig and Åsrun

Not easy taking pictures of ourselves. Sylvia, Linn and I, having a great time!

Another try...

London Eye!!!

Monday was shopping day. But I met up with Sylvia for lunch. She took me to a running sushi restaurant! Loving it!

The Rubias

As it turned out, British people are not that obedient to the law as I expected.

But it is still like being on the set of a movie, since it is like you have seen in all the movies...kind of ironic, in a nice way.

My last day, and the whole weekend for that matter, passed by way too fast!  There are so many more things I want to do in London, so I hope I'll be coming back in not too long! I got to experience this concert, thought. He was pretty good...
